marani, the widow of man killed during the 9/11 attacks, has filed
a federal case against george bush and his administration. marani
says the bush administration failed to heed repeated warnings from
u.s. intelligence that suggested that terrorists could use commercial
aircrafts as weapons. mariani wrote a letter to bush accusing him
of having knowledge that terrorists were targeting certain buildings,
and not warning the public. the white house says an investigations
commission will be appointed to review this case.

central michigan university along with three other university campuses
in the country has joined a hunger strike to cut university contracts
with taco bell. students and activists are outraged that taco bell
exploits their farm workers by paying their tomato pickers 40 cents
for every 32 pounds of tomatoes they pick. these farm workers work
12 days and have not had a raise since 1978. the hunger strike will
run through april 12th.
a tobacco company is coming under fire for featuring hip-hop youth
in a cigarette ad. the ad includes images of youthful rappers, DJs
and dancers. the ad is in violation of a settlement between 16 states
that bans advertising to youth. the company is also being criticized
because the ad features black youth. many activists allege that
the company is deliberately targeting african american youths.

deathrow records ceo suge knight has announced that he will release
a compilation album to benefit families of u.s soldiers in iraq.
knight says that he is not taking
any kind of political stance on the war, but is concerned for there
soldiers who have been fighting in iraq for over a year. knight
is sending all proceeds from the album to be sent directly to the
soldiers families. knight hopes that people will not download the
album for free so that the money will benefit the
families. the album will be available by december.
